2017 My Year To Be FEARLESS

This is my fourth year applying the one word concept, a word that helps define my whole year.  Of all the years, this one by far is the most challenging.  The thought of the word gives me pause.  So, I did it…. this year my one word is Fearless!

Oh my goodness, did you just get nervous reading that word too?  If you really know me, then you know that I am the BIGGEST scaredy cat in a lot of areas of my life.  So, when my blog coach, Elayna asked me about my “One Word” for the year, and this word entered my mind like a flood…I was hesitant to accept it and give her an answer.  If I were honest, I knew the word before she asked but I did not want to admit it.  But now that I have, I can totally imagine my life without fear. Does that happen to you, once you admit the hard thing it’s much easier to accomplish?

The word fearless means to be bold, brave and without fear.   It means to possess and display courage.  For the past three years, I’ve noticed that fear has been the elephant in the room in my life that I did not want to acknowledge.  Don’t get me wrong, things are going well, but had I been a bit more fearless I would feel better about a few decisions that I’ve made.

There is so much power in this quote by Lisa Messenger “Once you become fearless, life becomes limitless,” that it is difficult to fully comprehend.

As I grow forward in 2017, I am overcoming fear in every area of my life.  Whether it be fear of success because of the difficulty of my childhood, or speaking as a keynote to a group of people, or standing up for something when it’s not popular to do so. I will not allow the challenges of being uncomfortable keep me attached to fear.

My confirmation to be fearless comes from 1 Timothy 1:17 says, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  I will be FEARLESS in every aspect of my life this year!

  • I will be fearless in my pursuit to live a healthy and whole life united with my family.
  • I will be fearless as I serve God with a willing heart to do His perfect will for my life.
  • I will be fearless and thoroughly enjoying my marriage to my husband.
  • I will be fearless as a consistently engaged mom to my son.
  • I will be fearless in living abundantly and financially free.

That’s why I’m choosing fearless as my one word for the year, it’s going to keep me focused on my desired accomplishments. It will remind me that I should challenge myself to overcome my fears every single day. And it will leave me a lot more successful and satisfied with life.
