Are you planning a trip to Disney for Spring Break? If so, you already know how incredibly expensive it can be to stay in one of the resort hotels at the park. But, there’s one resort that is less well known than the rest and it is actually quite affordable! I’m talking about Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Yup, I had a chance to tour the Art of Animation Resort while on a press trip for Disney Dreamer’s Academy and it was amazing!

Just a 15-minute drive from the main entrance to Disney World and it is completely designed with families in mind. The hotel has 4 different themes that will appeal to girls and boys alike. The themes in Disney’s Art of Animation Resort are Cars, Finding Nemo, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid. Some of the rooms can house up to 6 people, which makes it great for anyone with a big family.

The resort also houses the biggest pool in all of the Walt Disney World Resort, The Big Blue Pool. This pool is really something special. It has underwater speakers where you’ll be able to hear Dory, Nemo, and Crush talk while music plays. There’s a splash area where kids can hang out with the ever-lovable Squirt. They also have a bar next to the pool that serves kid-friendly and grown-up drinks, whichever you prefer. If your child is sensitive to a lot of sound and activities, there are two quiet pools in the resort.

It also has an amazing food court that serves things that even the pickiest of eaters will love. It really is built with kids and family in mind. You can also get pizza delivered to your room in the evening.

But, while all of that is amazing where the resort really shines are the activities they run for kids. The activities they hold will vary by season so be sure to check what is on offer before you book. But you are almost guaranteed to see poolside activities like Disney Trivia, Nemo Bingo, and Name that Tune running. They also have a massive arcade, one of the largest at Walt Disney World in fact. It’s filled with old games and new ones alike, so you’re sure to find something to play no matter your age.

One thing that is unique to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is the Sketch Artist of the Day where kids can draw their favorite Disney character and a winning sketch is picked every day. Kids can also take a drawing class with a Disney artist. There they can learn from the experts how to draw their favorite Disney characters.

On top of all of this Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is a certified Green Lodge. This means they are working to reduce waste, conserve natural resources, and minimize pollution.

So, if you’re looking to take your family to the Walt Disney World Resort and want to give them the Disney resort experience without making your bank account cry you need to check out Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
