I’m Going….To Be An INCREDIBLE Mom #Incredibles2Event

It’s been rough lately.  I have been feeling far less than a Motivated Mom.  My health has not been at it’s best and my stress level has honestly been almost overwhelming.  My “mom guilt” is telling me that I am not a good mom because I am letting my health and other contributing factors get in the way of me being a good mom.

Have you ever felt that? The nagging thought that you didn’t do enough or you’re not enough?  The thought that you’ve failed yourself and your kiddos based on something that is somewhat out of your control.  That’s where I’ve lived for several weeks.  It’s been awful.

In the midst of me going back and forth to my doctor getting different medications to help me get well, I get an email containing pixie dust.  The subject line read, “Disney & Pixar Invite You to San Francisco! 4/3-4/5.”  As I read through the email I learned that I was going for an all-expense paid trip to a press event for Disney/Pixar’s INCREDIBLES 2 at Pixar Animation Studios to interview the Director, Brad Bird and Producers, Nicole Grindle and John Walker (please post questions below) and Tour the Walt Disney Museum.

I promise, I was super excited but still I struggled with my health issues and the feeling of failure.  As I begin posting about the event and researching the INCREDIBLES, I became obsessed with Helen Parr (a.k.a. Elastgirl or Mrs. Incredible).  Her superpower is her ability to stretch any part of her body up to 100’ (34M) and can be 1mm thin and reshape her body in a variety of ways.  So, I started thinking…I am changing my thoughts to be healthy, whole, and guilt free.  I am getting back to work and taking better care of myself so that I am not sick, stressed, and lacking time with my family.  I will be not only a Motivated Mom but I will be INCREDIBLE.

Being INCREDIBLE does not mean being perfect, it means that I am going to do my best to ensure that I am taking care of myself so that I can be a better wife and mom.  I’m going to do my part to take better care of myself and my family.  It’s like Elastgirl….she springs into action to save the day, while Mr. Incredible faces his greatest challenge yet — taking care of the problems of his three children.

Can’t you tell by the trailer that INCREDIBLES 2 is going to be a great movie?  The all-star cast, both old and new is giving a stellar (voice) performance: Holly Hunter (Helen Parr/Elastgirl), Craig T. Nelson (Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible), Catherine Keener (Evelyn Deavor), Samuel L. Jackson (Lucius Best/Frozone), Sophia Bush (Voyd), Isabelle Rossellini (Ambassador), Jonathan Banks (Rick Dicker), Bob Odenkirk (Winston Deavor), John Ratzenberger (The Underminer), Brad Bird (Edna Mode), Sarah Vowell (Violet Parr), Huck Milner (Dashiell “Dash” Parr), Kimberly Adair Clark (Honey).
