My #HanSolo World Premiere Experience Aboard The Millennium Falcon

I was invited to an all-expense paid trip to Los Angeles courtesy of Disney to attend the #HanSoloEvent & ABCTVEvent in exchange for my coverage. No other compensation was provided. All views shared are completely my own.

I’m still in awe after having the privilege of attending a red-carpet premiere of SOLO: A Star Wars Story at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.  It was the first Star Wars premiere where bloggers were able to attend.

While it was not my first time attending a premiere it certainly felt like it, I was so nervous.  Perhaps because it was a Star Wars movie or that I was wearing a sequence dress for the first time ever.  It could have been my state of mind.  I have been going through a lot and have not felt like myself.  Either way, once Chris Gees showed up and exposed my beauty with a little make over and I slipped into my dress….I was ready to board the Millennium Falcon and go to a galaxy far, far away.

I was one of the last bloggers to exit the van.  As I walked down Hollywood Boulevard to get to the carpet, I began feeling an overwhelming amount of peace.  Looking at the buildings, street signs, and stars on the ground I could not help but to think about my childhood.  It was especially emotional since we are so close to Mother’s Day, I smiled hard to keep from crying at the memories of my beloved grandmother.

As I entered the carpet, I was blown away.  It was bananas!! There sat the Millennium Falcon in the middle of the street and I was about to walk right through it.

It’s hard to put into words the feeling of gratitude for such and amazing opportunity.  To walk the red carpet and attend a movie with the cast and other celebrities like Alden Ehrenreich (HAN SOLO), Donald Glover (LANDO), Emilia Clark (QI’RA), and Billy D. Williams and so many more was insane.

Choya and I walked up the stairs of the Dolby Theatre, dropped my phone in the pouch and walked in, the anticipation hit me.  With so many people dressed up in Cosplay, I thought OMG I am attending the World Premiere of SOLO: A Star Wars Story

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo befriends his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and meets the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes. The film stars Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Paul Bettany.

Immediately following the premiere, we attended the after party.  This was my first time attending a premiere after party and it was loads of fun.  The room was filled with SOLO props, delicious food, and several celebrities.

While I can’t speak for the other 24 top bloggers selected by Disney that attended the #HanSoloEvent, I feel very confident saying they too enjoyed the experience whether it was their first Star Wars event like me or multiple times like a few others.  The experience can’t be duplicated.

This month I celebrated my two-year anniversary blogging.  Attending the SOLO: A Star Wars Story premiere and red-carpet was my celebratory trip.  I truly enjoyed being on the carpet, strolling down and taking it all in while posing at different backdrops with my photo buddy Choya Porter of A Splash of Diva.  I left the after party feeling renewed, refreshed, and refocused on appreciating the celebrity in me.  You know, the best part of me. The part that appreciates me for me…my most authentic self.

Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing more stories from the #HanSoleEvent.  Stay tuned for exclusive interviews with cast members Alden Ehrenreich (Han), Emilia Clarke (Qi’ra), Ron Howard (director), Woody Harrelson (Tobias Beckett), and Paul Bettany (Dryden Vos) and many more.

You can also stay informed with SOLO: A Star Wars Story (in theaters May 25th) by following on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.  And please follow the other bloggers using the #HanSoloEvent hashtag.
